Draft Magazine Advert 2

Here is a first real draft of my magazine that I created on Photoshop. I then asked members of my target audience to give me some brief feedback on what I have done well and what they think I could improve on. I intend to take on the comments and apply these to my next draft.

Raw Footage

Here is a short clip of some raw, unedited footage that I intend to indclude in my music video. I will have to edit this footage by cutting it down to enable me to use the parts of the clips that I actually need. Additionally, I could add effects such as fades and blurs to the clip to make it fit in with the tone of my music.

Digipak Production Log

Having now finished creating my digipak, I can say that overall, the process was a success. Although I made some changes to the original layout and colour scheme that I had planned, I think that the final end product and design works well. Also, after shooting my music video, I captured some images that I ended up using inside my digipak. These will also aid the cohesion between my digipak, magazine advert and music video and I think that having the images looks visually better than a white background.

If I could change anything about my digipak design, I would probably make some adjustments to my back cover. However as I have aleady spent enough time working on my digipak, I am now going to move on to using my class time working on my magazine advert.

Digipak Inside Alteration

Having originally intended for the inside two pages ofmy digipak to be in colour, I have taken some audience feedback on board and I have now adopted a black and white look for the whole digipack. Beforehand, the front and back cover were going to apprear in black and white and the two inside pages were going to be in colour. However one audience memeber felt that, together, the pages didn't seem to be part of the same product. I felt that the two soloutions were to have the whole thing in black and white or have allt eh pages in colour.

Having everything in colour wasn't an option because the front cover image has been so heavily edited to wash out the rest of the models face so that only her main features are visable. Therefore the whole digipak is now in a back and white filter. These are the two paged before and after:

Diary 14

In the past few days I have spent my lesson time sorting through all of the raw footage that I took on the day of my video shoot. I have started to think about what shots fit in best with the timeline that I originally proposed and how I can change the shots in programes such as After Effects. Additionally, I have been working on my digipak and I have been creating my back cover. I have completed my two inner pages and will start creating my magazine advert after my digipak is completed. Finally, I have also created a quick draft of my magazine advert using PowerPoint. I did this because I wanted to see what the image would look like with the layout that I had in mind and found completing this stage to be very helpful.

Magazine Advert Draft 1

I have created a draft of my magazine advert on Powerpoint, using one of the images that I took during the day of my video shoot. I did this because soon I will have to create the actual product on Photoshop and I wanted to get a brief idea of what the layout will look like ahead of the production. This is the layout I have chosen and I have also thought about some of the conventional information that could be found on the advert.

Photographs of Location

These are some images that I took of the mise-en-scene that I set up for the most part of my music video. I found a tree in the woods whereI was filming and I wanted this to be a focal point for the setting. The night before I shot the video, I collected some images from wesites including Google and Tumblr that I though reflected the theme of 'love' and I cut these out and hung them from the tree with paper. All in all, I believe that this had a very effective effect and helped the setting that I had chosen to look more 'dressed' and put together:

Diary 13

In the past week, I have been working on the rest of my digipak. I have managed to create the two inside pages that are going to accomodate the CD and the booklet that will come with the digipak to include the lyrics of the songs and some images of my artist. The reason why I have decided to include the booklet is because I want memberes of my audience that will buy the digipak to feel as if tyhey are getting more for buying a hard copy of it, rather than just downloading it. The digipack has been designed to look visually pleasing and I have chosen to include a running black and white colour scheme throughout the product.

Additonally, this week I was able to film my music video alongside the filming scheduale that I produced for myself and I took some images of the mise-en-scene that I created to use in the digipak. These are the images that I chose:
